General Liability Practice

Our General Liability Group has, for over 30 years, forged longstanding relationships with clients based on a responsiveness and sensitivity to their needs and a litigation philosophy which is aggressive and result oriented.

The General Liability Group specializes in the handling of complex and high-exposure general liability, construction and product liability cases. We have been retained by insurers, third-party administrators and corporate counsel to defend a broad spectrum of commercial and personal lines litigation. Within the Group are subspecialties in the areas of automobile, elevator, healthcare, negligent security, premise liability and intellectual property litigation.

Our Litigation Management Program emphasizes the need to work closely with clients to formulate a detailed defense strategy which identifies the "critical issues" of a case and establishes a prioritized plan of action and projected litigation budget. Through early case assessment and a pro-active defense, cases are positioned for early disposition, if appropriate, or trial, if necessary.

The hallmark of The Group is its thorough and issue-sensitive case preparation. The partners are respected trial attorneys who have extensive trial experience and regularly lecture and publish within their fields. Representative of our diverse clientele are such insurance companies as The American International Group, Fireman's Fund Insurance Companies, Allianz Global Risk US Insurance Company, One Beacon Insurance Group, Providence Washington Insurance Company, Ace USA, TIG Specialty Insurance Company, The Zurich American Insurance Companies, Safeco Insurance Companies and Tower Insurance Company; third-party administrators such as ESIS, Inc., Claims Administration Corporation, North American Risk Services, Cambridge Integrated Services, Alexsis Risk Management, Crawford & Company, York Claims and corporate clients such as Federated Department Stores, Sheraton Hotels, The Lefrak Organization, Marriott Corporation, Schindler Elevator Corporation and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter, LLC.
